Strengthening capacity through knowledge and good practice
GPE strengthens technical and institutional capacity of its partners to build effective and efficient education systems that deliver improved outcomes in learning, equity, gender equality and inclusion.
Through the Knowledge and Good Practice Exchange (KGPE) approach, GPE aims to leverage investments and increase the impact of its funding. It does so by catalyzing improved country capacity to plan sector strategies, review effective solutions to key education challenges and introduce systems for monitoring outcomes.
KGPE uses research, evidence-based policy and learning, innovations and data to address systemic challenges across countries and bring knowledge solutions to scale. KGPE is therefore intrinsic and fundamental to the work of the partnership, GPE’s theory of change and a core anchor for achieving GPE 2020.
Building on its comparative advantage and substantial experience in supporting sector planning, GPE provides grants for knowledge work and initiatives to promote sector monitoring.
KGPE is delivered through a suite of tools, products and services that help to identify, capture, store and disseminate knowledge and good practice across the partnership, in alignment with country priorities. This also creates opportunities for peer-to-peer exchange, supporting GPE’s mandate as a broker and convener of knowledge and good practice.
KGPE activities focus on three main areas:
- Improving learning outcomes
- Education financing and systems building
- Equity, gender equality and inclusion.
